Only 6 sleeps to go…

Not that I’m counting the days yet or anything.
Just been reading through the rider information booklet, which cheerfully reminds me how grueling the event is going to be, how rugged some of the roads are, and (although it doesn’t use these exact words) how much I’m going to suffer on some of these stages.
Especially the longer climbs.
Day one finishes at the top of a 17km climb at about 5%, which doesn’t sound too bad – but I suspect the road surface and the heat and the humidity will be enough to make it feel longer and steeper than that.  At the top of this climb is the village of Laclubar.
