Gifts for East Timor

After yesterday’s post I’m happy to say that the good people at Lexus of Brighton have kindly donated a box full of lycra to the cause.

Now I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking “John, you asked for ideas for gifts for Timorese children, and you’re taking lycra? Are you nuts??”  Good point.  The thing is, though, there will be 100 local Timorese riders in this event, and from talking to previous a previous participant I gather that the locals are not over-stocked with “stuff”.

So I’m looking forward to seeing a peloton of Timorese riders all kitted out in Lexus of Brighton gear.

And if you’re thinking about buying a new Lexus, now you know where to go!

As for the gift ideas for kids, doesn’t anybody have an idea?

Here’s some inspiration for you in the mean time:

Good on you for getting lycra goodies from Lexus Brighton, although i hope it’s not ‘RFB’* size and going to be too sloppy on the recipients!

As for gifts for the Timor kids, a trip to the Queen Vic market could be in order. There’s lots of souvenir stalls there. Little fluffy, clip on koalas are pretty cute and I think you can get multi-packs of stuff like flags.

Hope the trip goes well. Stay hydrated and slip, slop, slap!! You might run into my neighbour/friend, Brett Kellett, who’s also going.

    Cheers
    Meg

      Hi MM.
I ride with a bunch during the week, all kitted out in Lexus gear, and we’re all RSB size, so I’m hopeful that most of what I have will fit *someone* in Timor Leste!
Clip on koalas are definitely on the list, thanks.
